Investigation by Our Legal Team
A member of our legal team will then conduct the further investigations. This may involve meeting with you to take additional information, to further consider the funding options and to prepare a preliminary witness statement. Any outstanding medical records will be sought and reviewed by the appointed case handler in conjunction with our Nurse Advisors.
Once all the relevant medical records have been obtained, they are sent together with any other documentation to an independent medical expert who will be asked to give their opinion on whether the treatment and care you have received was negligent and if so, the extent of any injury you have suffered as a result. That report from the expert will be important in determining whether or not you have a claim to pursue. It may be necessary to get more than such one report in complex cases.
