Funding Of Your Claim
One of the first questions a client is likely to ask when instructing a solicitor is how much will it cost to pursue a claim.
When you come to us to discuss a possible medical negligence claim, we always conduct the initial consideration of the case free of charge. If the medical negligence case is then taken on, the vast majority of clients will pay nothing to us and retain 100% of any damages they recover, whichever funding option is subsequently chosen.
In some complex cases, where no alternative funding arrangements are available, we may ask the client to make a contribution towards the preliminary investigations following the initial free assessment. However in the event the claim is successful, any contribution should be recovered from the Defendant(s), ensuring a client receives a full refund and retains 100% of their damages.
Following the free initial assessment of your claim, we will advise you on the most appropriate funding options. These may include:
Public Funding/Legal Aid;
Legal Expense Insurance attached to an existing insurance policy;
Conditional Fee Agreement, otherwise known as a No Win, No Fee Agreement;
Private Paying Basis, when no other funding option is appropriate.
