Julie is a Medico-legal Adviser in the Medical Negligence Department. She qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1976. Since then she has worked in many different areas of healthcare and undertaken additional study. For many years she was involved in clinical research into subjects such as HIV/AIDS, and in the development of services for people with HIV / AIDS in London. Julie worked in a Mission Hospital in Bahrain for 3 years, where she was involved in nurse training and hospital infection control. Latterly, she taught child health to students undertaking nursery nurse training, before joining Attwaters in early 2009.
Areas of Practice
Julie’s appointment as Medico-legal Adviser to the Department has enhanced the expertise of the team by bringing research skills and knowledge to support the assessment of claims. Her responsibilities include liaison with clients, reviewing records and acting as a resource to members of the team. She has had a number of research papers published in medical journals.
